Dental Specialties
Many procedures that are
being performed in dental offices are performed by
doctors, who limit their practice to only these
procedures. These specialties include
Periodontics,
Endodontics (Root
Canals),
Orthodontics (Braces) and
Oral Surgery. Often, your general
dentist will refer you out to one of these specialists,
is you can benefit from their services. On the
other hand, many general dentists have achieved a
tremendous amount of expertise in these specialties,
through additional training, that they perform many of
these procedures themselves. In any event, these
are specialties as recognized by the American Dental
